Zeo Energy completes acquisition of residential solar company Lumio

By Kelsey Misbrener | November 7, 2024

Share

Zeo Energy, a Florida-based provider of residential solar and energy efficiency solutions, today announced that it has completed the acquisition of all of the assets of Lumio Holdings, another residential solar company.

On September 3, 2024, Lumio filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and the sale transaction was approved by the court on November 1.

“We believe this transaction marks a significant step forward for Zeo Energy that will enable us to expand our scale and market presence in the solar industry,” said Tim Bridgewater, CEO of Zeo Energy. “While the last year has been challenging for residential solar companies, we believe that we have positioned the company as a platform to opportunistically purchase assets, which will help us grow at above-industry rates in 2025 and beyond. We look forward to completing solar installations under agreements entered into by Lumio for their customers and financing partners. We also plan to work with Lumio’s sales representatives to bring them onto our platform to accelerate Zeo’s growth.”

Additional information regarding Lumio’s Chapter 11 cases is available here.

Hi my name is Linda Davis. Lumio had worked on my panel for 1 1/2 years. Their service was horrible a crap shoot sending people after people out to work on them. Ordering parts after parts that weren’t the issue. Slow to correct the problems. When I would call and say a guy is walking all over my panels. They would explain he no longer works for them .. finally after 1 1/2 years of not working and partially working. They were going to pay me $2,168. For my loss of solar energy. They claimed I would recieve it even if they filed chapter 11. It was owed to me..They no longer answered when I called..Finally one guy towards the end knew what he was doing and corrected the problem..

I have just recently found out that I had been scammed when I received a bill from LightReach. I contacted Newsom and Melton who handled the lawsuit but they say they can’t take any more people. So my question is where do I go from here, any suggestions are appreciated.

My Lumio Solar was installed October 7th before November 1st and was completed. I received permission to operate and notified my electric provider. Zeo says they only acquired the accounts that were not completed and did not receive permission to operate that is clearly not true. There is a law suit against Lumio and I recommend looking into to it.

I have been trying to get in touch with Lumio also, no wonder, I goggled to see if they were still in business and found they were not. So who is following up on our warranty installations. I have a micro inverter that is bad and has produced since December.
I am all about the class action, no notification that my account was taken over by Zito.

    Debbie,
Hello, my name is Sharon, from Belleview, Florida. I am in the same boat.

In July, I had solar panels installed by Lumio. The process has never been completed.
I don’t know which way to turn, I never received any information from Lumio representativesthat the company was declaring bankruptcy and being sold out to Zio.

I am looking for which avenue to take next.

I am trying to get a hold of Lumio representative so I can at least get my contract in hand. I believe the contract was done all electronically, and now I cannot find the information.

I’m sure. There are many others who have been stiffed also. Please let’s get together and help each other out.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Sincerely, Sharon Parent

      I found this Sharon,
      Lumio Acquisition
We are excited to officially announce our recent acquisition of Lumio assets!

      What does that mean?
ZEO Energy is expanding! We are excited to add new projects to our pipeline and welcome Lumio customers to our family.

Did we acquire everything from Lumio?
To clarify, we have taken on most active solar projects sold by Lumio that had not achieved Permission to Operate (“PTO”) status until after 11/1/24. Any projects that had reached PTO prior to 11/1/24 have not been acquired by us

      Hi Rosie,
my name is Sharon, and it appears that I am one of the many also who have been duped by this company Lumio.
Perhaps we should all gather some more information and take out a class action lawsuit. I have heard nothing regarding the bankruptcy of Lumio, And the buying out of the company by Zio. These are very poor company, policies Which have left many people stranded without any forthcoming information.

I hope to hear from you and possibly we can figure something out along with others who are in the same boat.

      Sincerely,

      Sharon Parent

So because mine is already completed I get no help from them. I have to find my own.
