This is a current grouping of solar manufacturers in the United States that produce solar panels and their associated materials for the traditional residential, commercial and utility-scale markets. This data is collected by Solar Power World editors and will be continually updated as facilities are started and/or expanded. If there is a American facility update related to solar panels not included on these lists, please contact editor Kelly Pickerel at kpickerel@wtwhmedia.com.
Solar Power World has organized this data in different tabs, found at the bottom of this chart. In addition to assembling solar panels, the United States is growing its domestic polysilicon solar manufacturing abilities. A traditional silicon solar panel requires polysilicon, which is then shaped into silicon ingots, which are then cut into silicon wafers, which turn into silicon solar cells that are finally assembled into silicon solar panels. As new facilities start through every step of the silicon solar manufacturing process, they will be added to the third tab of the below chart.
Please also check out our list of U.S. inverter manufacturing locations and our list of U.S. mounting manufacturers.
Use the tabs above to view different groupings.
*Some Made-in-America brands produce small quantities of solar panels through OEMs in the United States, and that list can be found in the tabs above. It would be unrealistic to allot the OEM’s full gigawatt quantity to each brand, so capacity estimates are not provided.
