SolarEdge Technologies today launches its Re-Energize upgrade program in the United States, which will enable homeowners to get new SolarEdge equipment and a new warranty when they upgrade their existing system.
The program offers homeowners special promotional pricing on the Home Hub inverter, which comes with a new 12-year warranty, new five-year data cell card, and the ability to add a host of smart devices. For installers, SolarEdge’s DC-coupled architecture allows for simple installation of these upgrades, reducing main panel upgrades and labor-intensive panel modifications.
The new five-year data cell plan enables wireless communication between the inverter and the SolarEdge monitoring platform via users’ cellular plan when upgrading an existing SolarEdge inverter through the program. Participants in the Re-Energize program will also have the option to add more panels to their system with up to 200% oversizing, as well as add home battery backup and a portfolio of smart home energy devices such as EV chargers, load controllers and more.
All non-Home Hub inverters installed before June 30, 2022, are eligible for an upgrade through the Re-Energize program. Read more about the program here.

I have had solar edge only for a couple of years. I have contacted them twice about upgrading and and getting a back up battery. Contacted them they sent email saying someone would get back to me still waiting. So I guess if this is how they do business no happy. Is there another company I can contact.
Kelly Pickerel says
You should reach out to a local solar/storage installer.
Mildred says
Me keep on reaching Solaredge but no response at all.very disappointed. The said they call back to give you another company. We do emails. Everything we done but nothing at all
Solarguy says
I’m sorry guys to hear about bad experiences with solaredge.

Research the company and their products. They are one of the top solar products on the market. Their business model is as a manufacturer, they do not work directly with consumers. The Solar installer is the one you need to get warranty issues addressed with. The issue is there are so many fly by night solar installers put there. They are not all created equal. I had one optimizer out of 70 fail, after 2 years and they replaced it right away and the installer replaced it at no charge. I could not be happier.
Brad chipman says
I have 2 solark 12kw inverters. No problems and can get a tech on the phone instantly. They are set up to wifi so they can make changes remotely
Rose Edwards says
We have Solar Edge regret having them as sellers. We have tried to get someone to answer questions and no call back .
Steven Frederick Reeves says
That is the installers fault not the manufacturers. All communications are via installers not the manufacturers (solaredge).

I have been catching Solaredge customers up to par in the Phoenix area for about a year now. An upgrade across the board sounds as good as it is terrifying, but let’s roll it out. I’ll be working on the system anyways upgraded or upgrading, up-to-date is a must!! …= PRODUCING = $$$
Lyn Etzler says
Poor experience with SE. Our inverter went out within the first year. Replacement came 3 months later, and at best, produces 50% capacity. Currently waiting resolution of 2nd opened ticket and refund of electric bills during outages.
Poor auditing of outages.
Terry Walton says
I have solar edge installed in 2016. My system has 25 optimizers. Starting in 2019 the optimizers began failing. It took me until 2023 to finally get solar edge to replace the total of 15 that had stopped working by 2022. I have a 15 year warranty. They would not honor the warranty. It costs me $2100 to pay for the 15 new optimizers. Now they want me to trust them to replace these old optimizers with a new warranty. Their warranty claim is useless. Trust them at your own peril.
Roy Silva says
For the last 10 years, SolarEdge SE4000 and optimisers has worked perfectly. No call outs. None. Just deliver, year after year. Bless you.
Michael Yurkovic says
Interesting article. I have a solar field installed 12/2022. How do I know if I have Home Hub Inverter? Our phone monitoring software does not give half the info our sales rep sold us on so could use an upgrade. We would also like to add a battery for backup as any over production is annually bought back by PG&E for next to nothing. Better to be able to save extra production.
Douglas Pierce says
Easy, check their grids supported info on the site here:
https://knowledge-center.solaredge.com/sites/kc/files/se-grids-supported-by-solaredge-inverters-technical-note-eng.pdf
Sadly, mine is not supported. I have the SE7600A.
Mickey says
I have two inverters, one from Tesla, and one from Solar Edge. Coincidentally, both inverters went out Within a month of each other. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice until my bill went up. We contacted both companies, and within four days we had another inverter to replace the Solar Edge inverter. Tesla, on the other hand, still has to send someone out, and our appointment is next month before they even look at the inverter.
Nathan says
You must be lucky. I had similar situation last summer and it took 2 months for solaredge to replace the invertor after so many calls and online inquiries.
Penny Hill says
My SE equipment never works and the support is rude when they do decide to pick up.
I would definitely not trust any upgrade program from their unsold stock pile with a cheap new plastic design.
Carlos says
The installation was not done properly… That’s what happening alone
David Neil Scotti says
Last month I recall reading that SolarEdge was going through massive layoffs?
Kevin says
Sandra, probably no coincidence that my system has been down for the last 3 weeks while I’m waiting for my installer to come take a look. This industry is ripe for change.
Sandra Bush says
I don’t know that I would trust solar edge products to actually work longer than 18 months at a time. I’ve replaced mine 3 times since 2019 so I have little faith in this company and the communication is so poor I never know that it’s working or the inverter is out again. I give SE a minus 5 rating. The down time to get a working inverter paying full one month high grid costs then hiring a master electrician to install the new inverter cost makes this a terrible company to trust with a toy truck.
Douglas S Ruby says
My solar Edge inverter has been working flawlessly for 5 years. The one time I needed help to get the inverter back on the internet, my installer came by and fixed it for free including new internet hardware.
Carlos says
It’s not free remember u have a warranty… Most of the times this happen is because the Installation was done wrong
