EDF Renewables North America and Enbridge have completed Phase 1 of the largest solar project in Ohio. Fox Squirrel Solar, a 749-MWDC project in Madison County, should fully be completed at the end of this year. The first phase equaling 194 MW is now delivering energy to the PJM grid.
Phase 2 (325 MW) and Phase 3 (230 MW) will come online later this year. During peak construction of the first phase, 650 workers were onsite installing 10,000 panels per day. The full project has a 20-year PPA secured.
“We are pleased to bring into service the first phase of the Fox Squirrel solar project as part of our expanded strategic partnership with EDF Renewables,” said Matthew Akman, Executive Vice President Corporate Strategy and President, Power, Enbridge. “The development of this project will support local communities and deliver clean power for our customer.”
