All new homes in California permitted after January 1, 2020 will be required to have solar panels. This mandate (Title 24 of the California Building Standards Code) is expected to increase solar demand in the state by over 800 MW from 2020-2023, according to SEIA’s Solar Market Insight Report.
In this webinar, Aurora Solar will provide a practical guide to designing solar for new construction in order to comply with Title 24 requirements from the California Energy Commission (CEC). Attendees will also hear firsthand perspectives on working in this market from SunStreet, one of the leading companies working in this emerging sector. Finally, representatives from the CEC who have worked on this policy will be on the line to answer questions about the regulations at the end of the presentation.
Attendees of this webinar will learn:
- How to comply with Title 24 requirements from the CEC and fill out the forms required by the CEC using outputs from Aurora;
- How Lennar Home’s subsidiary, SunStreet, is working with builders to help them execute solar for new construction projects and insights from their experience;
- Strategies to overcome the challenges of designing PV systems for buildings that have not yet been constructed, including how to determine solar access, shading and determine the best locations for panels;
- Options for visually showcasing what the solar array will look like on the new building in a way that is compelling for the buyer.
