HellermannTyton releases plastic solar tie rated to last 25+ years

HellermannTyton has released a commercial-scale, plastic solar tie that is designed to last more than 25 years. The PVDF Solar Tie delivers all-weather performance and longevity in an otherwise familiar-looking fastener design.

Manufactured from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), this outdoor tie exhibits some of the highest UV, chemical and thermal resistance of any plastic resin with a maximum operating temperature of 284°F. The PVDF Solar Tie is an alternative to traditional metal ties that are known to sometimes slice through solar cables and require a hand tool to crimp.

“Metal is expensive and hard to install,” said Nick Korth, product marketing manager in energies for HellermannTyton. “Some cable tie manufacturers are selling cheap plastics that don’t last long. HellermannTyton is completing its suite of wire management materials, enabling the introduction of a solar tie that combines the longevity of metal and the ease of installation and wire safety customers expect from a polymer-based cable tie.”

The PVDF Solar Tie comes in a gray color, which provides inspectors visual confirmation that a solar-specific wire management product was used on the installation, speeding up site approval.

Wire management is vert important in solar plants and I think needs to covered inside codes … because actually it just done by experience of EPC or client requests and here the fight begins because no solid stanards
Our site still have this problem and we as project developer still do not accept what the EPC have done
