Sunlight Financial, PetersenDean donate 7.13-kW solar system for St. Jude net-zero home giveway

Sunlight Financial and PetersenDean Roofing & Solar have entered into a joint initiative to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Sunlight and PetersenDean will together donate and install a residential solar system on the first net-zero St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway house in Clovis, California.

“Our Sunlight Financial teammates value giving back to their communities,” said CEO Matt Potere. “Many of us at Sunlight are parents with whom St. Jude’s work advancing research and treatment to prevent and cure pediatric diseases resonates strongly. Sunlight is a mission-driven company that got its start arranging financing for residential solar systems. We are very excited to partner with PetersenDean to support residential solar, St. Jude, and the Dream Home Giveaway.”

In August, St. Jude will begin to sell raffle tickets for the California Central Valley St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway. In October, St. Jude will select the winner of the new home in the De Young EnVision community in Clovis, Central California’s first grid connected, zero-energy community. The St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway house and the De Young EnVision community is designed with the potential to produce as much energy as it consumes. Toward that end, Sunlight Financial and PetersenDean will place a 7.13-kW system on the home.

“PetersenDean is proud to give back to the communities that support us,” said Jim Petersen, Founder, President and CEO, PetersenDean Roofing & Solar. “The homeowners will not only save on electricity, but solar energy helps save the environment. We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Sunlight in support of a very worthy cause, the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway, for disease treatment and prevention.”

“The St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway helps ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food, because all they should worry about is helping their child live,” said James R. Downing, MD, the President and CEO of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “With the support of Sunlight Financial and PetersenDean, we hope to raise $1,000,000 in the Central Valley to accelerate the development of cures to improve and save children’s lives, including girls and boys in California.”
