Pine Gate Renewables, a national utility-scale solar developer, owner, and operator, energized its Peony Solar project in Orangeburg County, South Carolina. Sitting on 334 acres, Peony is a 57-MW site and can generate more than 97,400 MWh per year.

Project partner NARENCO helped install the 175,000 tracker panels on the site. “Peony Solar was a great collaborative effort between NARENCO, PGR and SCE&G,” said Andy Giraldo, president of EPC at NARENCO. “The efforts of all parties allowed us to deliver a high-quality project that will generate decades of clean power to South Carolina.”
The energy generated from Peony equates to powering roughly 9,348 homes and is Pine Gate’s thirteenth operational solar site in South Carolina. Collectively, Pine Gate sites contribute 188 MW of clean, renewable energy to the state with more to come.
