WINAICO, Taiwan’s largest PV module brand, has achieved Type 1 module fire performance, defined by the UL 1703 certification, for the 300 W monocrystalline PERC module. This represents WINAICO’s conviction in combining the highest efficiency and safety into one single solar module. WINAICO becomes one of only three companies in the world to achieve CEC listing with 60 cell modules of greater than 300 W. WINAICO’s 60 cell modules are listed up to 315 W, and has a PTC rating of 288.2 W, one of the highest in the list, proving the modules’ high performance in the real world conditions.
In order to qualify for Type 1 module fire performance, WINAICO’s module withstood the fire test setup, with a direct 760±28°C flame at wind speed of 5.3±0.2 m/s for 10 minutes. The module was able to limit the spread of flame to less than 6 feet (1.82 m) within the 10 minute timeframe. Additional burning brand test was conducted, where WINAICO module withstood a burning brand on the module surface for 4 minutes, and the flame spread was less than 13 feet (3.96 m).
“WINAICO leads the world in high efficiency and reliability, and achieving the Type 1 module fire performance with our 300 W PERC module demonstrates our synergy in both areas”, said Sascha Rossmann, Vice President of Global Sales for WINAICO. “At the same time, WINAICO becomes one of only three companies in the world to achieve CEC listing with 60 cell modules of greater than 300 W.”
