HiQ Solar, a US-based innovator in PV inverters announced the successful completion of its A-series equity round of $11M from a group of private investors.

“We founded HiQ Solar on the belief that the PV inverter segment is ready for disruption. Customers agree with us, and having successfully shipped 6 MWac of inverters to date, we’re ready to scale. This funding will allow us to drive our growth,” said Dr. Lutz Henckels, CEO of HiQ Solar.

This follows the announcement in July of the company’s TrueString 208V product, and being awarded the Intersolar PV Award for 2015 for the TrueString 480V product. HiQ Solar will be exhibiting at the SPI trade show in Anaheim, CA, September 15-17th, in booth 6348.

HiQ Solar also announced the appointment of Rob Howard as its new Vice President of Operations. Most recently at Enphase Energy as the Senior Director of Global Manufacturing, Rob has a long history in operations management, supplier quality and commodity management. His experience includes seventeen years in the automobile industry with companies such as Daimler, Chrysler, and General Motors. He is a Six Sigma certified Master Black Belt.

“As we scale our TrueString inverter family to volume Rob will be key for us, and we’re delighted to welcome such an experienced leader to our company” said Dr. Lutz Henckels, CEO of HiQ Solar.

“I believe HiQ is in a unique position – it is rare to have the right product, at the right time, in the right space” said Rob Howard, VP of Operations of HiQ Solar.
