With CellCube energy storage, a powerful, durable and low-maintenance vanadium redox flow large scale storage solution has developed by Cellstrom GmbH following many years of research. American Vanadium Corp., which is developing a vanadium mine in the United States, has entered into a master sales agreement with GILDEMEISTER energy solutions of Germany whereby American Vanadium will market and sell GILDEMEISTER’s CellCube vanadium redox flow batteries in North America. The CellCube is a commercially available energy storage system that is capable of scaling to multi-hour and multi-megawatt size. The goal is to integrate its own electrolyte supply from its Gibellini Mine in Nevada which is currently in the permitting phase.

I would like to have a decent discussion on the physics of this battery type and the true benefit/costs of the various battery types. Also, where the economy of scale and the physical scale benefits of various types are at the moment, and what, if any, projections there are for the future. Is there a forum anywhere discussing this at a decent level?
