Climate Change is one of the premier issues of our time, but solar can help solve it. We spoke with Jamie Howland of Acadia Center, an organization which has offices throughout New England, to find out how it too is working to solve climate change and what resources it offers solar professionals. Listen to learn more.

The IPCC has found that there is a 95% percent certainty that climate change is man made (and 95% in statistics basically means certain). This means that people can prevent climate change because they are causing it. This cannot be done by just changing habits. Running a coal power station is not a habit, turning off lights when they are not being used is. Also changing habits is very difficult, think how long it took to get people wearing seatbelts in cars to save their own lives. A strong exerted effort is required to tackle climate change, which must be done urgently to prevent the minimum 2 degree Celsius increase, which we are nearly at the point of missing. The solar industry is a key part of the puzzle to reduce CO2 emissions (not to mention reducing air pollution, increasing domestic energy production and security of supply and increasing industry growth).Talk of tackling climate change being so simple and not a difficult problem to fix is unhelpful.

Is it really a Climate Change big issue? Isn’t it our change in habits of humans?
If we change our habits Climate will automatically change by itself. You cannot prevent climate change. But help changing habits of human being then Climate change is automatic. What do you say on this?
