Kendall Sustainable Infrastructure brings 17 MW of New York solar projects online in Q4 2020

Kendall Sustainable Infrastructure placed 17 MW of new solar capacity online during the fourth quarter of 2020. The projects are a continuation of KSI’s leadership in building and owning distributed-scale solar power projects. KSI now owns 78 MW of solar power, with 50 MW online and another 28 MW in active construction.

KSI’s four new projects serve various communities and businesses across New York State. Host locations include the greater Rochester area, Central New York and the Plattsburgh region including the towns of Ontario, Macedon, Orange and Mooers. Together, the new projects produce enough electricity to power approximately 3,000 households. Off-takers for the power include community members and New York-based businesses.

The new projects add to KSI’s presence in the northeast and New York State.

“KSI has been serving businesses and households in New York for several years and we are pleased to further increase our presence here,” said John Chaimanis, managing director. “New York homes and businesses now have the opportunity to benefit from long-term, cost-effective solar power.”

The projects are KSI’s first portfolio to come online after the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It is great to see the excitement and sense of pride that communities are showing as we bring these projects online,” said Ken Lehman, managing director. “It is a tribute to our team, which has been working through difficult conditions all year, including a construction moratorium.”

KSI is actively building additional projects in New York and Rhode Island and is seeking opportunities in other states. The group partners with local developers and EPC contractors on solar and other sustainable infrastructure projects.
