Solar States

Solar States is a B-Corp solar installer, Fair Chance Hiring employer, NABCEP Registered Training Provider and educator based in Philadelphia’s Olde Kensington neighborhood. Our business model is unique. We have installed 1,000+ solar systems on residential, commercial, and non-profit properties while delivering over 3,500 hours of solar training and education. We use solar installations as a vehicle for educating and employing inner-city Philadelphians. Our free training and education programs are hosted in North Philadelphia and are made possible by partnerships with The Philadelphia Energy Authority, PowerCorpsPHL, Philadelphia OIC and others. We are co-authors of a 1,000+ hour solar training curriculum for a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program that is available for download at no cost online and is being taught at Frankford High School.
