A refugee aid organization in Denver is celebrating the completion of a donated 60-kW solar system that is expected to save the organization over $350,000 over the next 20 years.

A group of solar companies, including SolarEdge Technologies, Apollo Energy, Pivot Energy, IronRidge, Greentech Renewables and Rexel, donated the system to Project Worthmore, a nonprofit organization providing support services to refugees in the Denver metropolitan area. The system will power the nonprofit’s newly renovated 20,000-ft2 Denver campus.
“This solar installation will allow Project Worthmore to redirect thousands of dollars every month into programs that directly support the families we serve,” said Frank Anello, Executive Director for Project Worthmore. “We’re incredibly grateful to the companies that came together to make this project possible and help ensure our new campus can serve the community for years to come.”
The solar installation is expected to eliminate most of Project Worthmore’s electricity expenses. Those funds will instead support educational classes, community programs and shared spaces that serve families and local organizations across the Denver metro area.
