Cherry Street completes 6-MW solar project for Georgia glass manufacturer

Arglass, a glass container manufacturer headquartered in Valdosta, Georgia, is now powering a portion of its operations with on-site solar developed and financed by Cherry Street Energy.

“The future of American manufacturing depends on innovation – not only in how we make products, but in how we power our operations,” said Jose Diego-Arozamena, CEO of Arglass. “This investment reinforces Arglass’s commitment to the principles on which our company was founded – flexibility, efficiency and sustainability.”

The 6.01-MW project is likely Georgia’s largest ground-mounted customer-sited tracking solar power system.

“Arglass is benefiting from that versatility by reimagining a portion of the company’s land to reliably produce energy that will provide meaningful support for the facility’s daytime operations,” said Michael Chanin, CEO of Cherry Street Energy.

The project was originally developed by Carrick-Williams Companies and acquired by Cherry Street Energy in 2025.

KUDOS to this story. A manufacturer that is taking responsibility and accountability in using renewable energy. Reducing the emissions by implementing a portion of renewable energy to their business. They are being responsive stewards within the commercial sector I am a resident of Valdosta and I am proud of Arglass’ Initiative .
