EticaAG batteries now feature HazGuard venting system

By Kelly Pickerel | June 18, 2025

EticaAG has launched HazGuard, powered by TRAPS, a gas filtration and venting system engineered to eliminate toxic emissions during battery thermal runaway events.

HazGuard integrates with EticaAG’s lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery systems, which already have its patented LiquidShield immersion technology to suppress thermal runaway at the cell level. If gas is released, HazGuard activates to rapidly vent, neutralize and safely release inert gas into the surrounding environment. This eliminates harmful byproducts like hydrogen fluoride (HF), carbon monoxide and other flammable vapors.

“This closes the loop,” said Jaime Hidalgo, CEO and co-founder of EticaAG. “Our immersion technology already prevents fire and eliminates propagation. With HazGuard, we’re also protecting first responders, facility operators and the surrounding community from toxic exposure.”

HazGuard features a multi-stage filter system powered by patent-pending technology that scrubs toxic and flammable gases in real time. Neutralized air is exhausted at safe levels well below regulatory thresholds, supporting compliance and improving safety in sensitive deployments — such as data centers, hospitals, and densely populated urban sites.

The system integrates seamlessly into EticaAG’s cabinet and container configurations and is recommended for any application with a zero-tolerance policy for toxic or flammable discharge.

HazGuard is now available as an optional safety enhancement across EticaAG’s full line of immersion-cooled energy storage systems.
