Residential solar provider Sunnova has launched Sunnova Repair Services, a program that will allow solar homeowners not under a service warranty to troubleshoot, service and repair their solar and energy storage systems, even if Sunnova did not install them.
“We proudly back all our Sunnova systems with full service warranties so our customers have peace of mind, but we know that not everyone with a solar system has that same level of service,” said Michell Graham, Senior Vice President of Service and Energy Operations at Sunnova. “Sadly, there are many homeowners with solar systems who are frustrated because either their provider doesn’t offer service and support, or their electrician isn’t able to service their issues. We have an in-house team of dedicated service technicians who are the best in the industry, specially trained to service most major equipment providers for residential solar and storage. We set out a goal to bring the high standard of service that we provide our Sunnova customers to all solar customers, and that’s what we’re going to do.”
Sunnova already provides monitoring and repair services for over 170,000 U.S. solar customers, and now these services are available to all solar homeowners.
Sunnova Repair Services technicians are professionally certified solar experts; they have completed hundreds of hours of training and are certified to work on systems from leading solar brands such as Enphase, Generac, SolarEdge, and Tesla. Sunnova’s technicians can diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace equipment issues caused by manufacturer or installation defects, weather and more.
Sunnova is available to help with a variety of solar repairs associated with the monitor, inverter, solar panels, battery, wiring and connections, including but not limited to: assessment and troubleshooting, warranty administration, warranty fulfillment, preventative maintenance, equipment services, repairs and replacement.

Solarman says
Solar PVs been a “thing” for at least 20 years now for the ratepayers to use and take care of their daily energy needs. I’ve been using solar PV for 17 of those years and will continue to do so. I have witnessed many large companies like Solar City, Vivint and real goods solar, come and go while smaller local solar PV installers may be linked to electric companies that have another revenue stream during lulls in solar PV installations and repairs. Most of the problems with solar PV will be the micro inverters, converters or house inverters. House inverters usually fail around 10 years and is (often) a heat problem when the internal cooling fan fails, and the inverter heats up to trip out or the heat kills an on-board voltage regulator. This is where you also find out the tolerance of components like capacitors that are under 90 degrees C used in the inverter in harsh environments.
