LaBella Associates, a multi-discipline design firm, has completed the acquisition of Solar Ground-N-Pound, a solar contractor headquartered in Hamlin, New York. Through the deal, LaBella adds niche solar civil, mechanical and construction capabilities to its full suite of professional services for the renewable energy industry.
Solar Ground-N-Pound’s 22 employees will begin operating as LaBella immediately. Led by owner and president Matt Beres, who will assume the role of Solar Construction Manager at LaBella, the Solar Ground-N-Pound team focuses on readying the ground for solar panels, and constructing the mounting and installation of those panels. Solar Ground-N-Pound was ranked the No. 1 New York installer on Solar Power World’s Top Solar Contractors list.
“Renewable energy has been an area of tremendous growth for LaBella,” said Greg Senecal, senior VP and director of environmental, Labella. “Our design professionals are able to draw on decades of experience with municipalities and utilities to get these projects permitted and designed. From there, we have enjoyed effective and valued partnerships with contracting teams that build and connect the systems. Today’s acquisition makes one of those partnerships permanent. We couldn’t be more excited to provide our clients with additional capabilities.”
“Growing Solar Ground-N-Pound has been my passion for two years,” said owner Matt Beres. “Joining LaBella, with its reputation for technical expertise and its reputation as an employer, will give us the resources we need to continue to expand our team, tools and serviceable territory.”
The Solar Ground-N-Pound team will move from its operational headquarters in Hamlin to LaBella’s environmental contracting facilities in Rochester and Ballston Spa.
