PowerMarket and Hartz Solar have partnered to deliver community solar subscriptions to residents in Hudson and Essex County, New Jersey. Hartz Solar was awarded four community solar projects as part of the NJ Community Solar Energy Pilot Program.
“As a proud New Jersey business, we are excited to develop solar projects that will inject clean energy into our local grid and give back to our community. We partnered with PowerMarket because they bring an unparalleled level of industry expertise and software services that will ensure the success of our community solar projects. We look forward to having PowerMarket on our team as we grow our community solar portfolio,” said Lawrence Garb, executive VP at Hartz Mountain Industries.
Solar Energy Systems, the project installer, has supported the community further, having funded installation training opportunities in the Newark area and offering graduates an opportunity to work with the company.
“We have designed, built and maintained solar PV systems in New Jersey for fifteen years. Working with the local community to further the solar industry’s benefit of clean energy and job creation is a great feeling,” said David Buckner, president of Solar Energy Systems.
PowerMarket is currently educating and enrolling participants for Hartz’s four community solar projects in Jersey City, North Bergen, Newark and Secaucus. The program offers 10% savings for any household that participates in the program. Low to moderate income subscribers, or those who participate in a social assistance program like LIHEAP or SNAP will receive even greater savings.
