Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden released a new clean energy plan on July 14 to transition to 100% clean electricity by 2035 and spend $2 trillion over four years on clean energy projects, according to CNN.
The new roadmap based on Biden-Sanders Unity Task Force Recommendations sets a goal of installing 500 million solar panels within five years, including eight million rooftop and community energy systems.
Biden’s plan also focuses on expanding clean energy job opportunities to underrepresented populations including people of color, women and unemployed workers from other energy fields.
CNN reports the plan to reach 100% clean energy by 2035 is modeled after Governor Jay Inslee’s former presidential campaign proposal.

Wow, proving the accusation that the Government is out of touch with the people one “mandate” at a time.
Just a couple of days ago, in Palm Springs California, the official temperature was 121 degrees Fahrenheit. Installers on the roofs of homes either doing roofing or installing solar PV panels, would have been working on a roof with temperatures of from 135 to 145 degrees Fahrenheit. It takes some very special qualifications to DO this kind of work for any period of time. Young, strong, and unending stamina are required. To “mandate” particular “classes” of people is not the problem, making these political calls without any substantive experience in the actual work involved is asinine and counter productive. I’d like to get ME and Biden on a house roof top during a hot summer’s day and just “sit” there for 20 to 30 minutes and see which one of us gets down off the roof alive.
