Hannah Solar Government Services (HSGS) has been selected to build several solar PV parking canopies totaling 330 kW at the VA Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. The parking canopies will be funded via an Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) with the Department of Veteran Affairs. ESPCs are designed to provide energy cost savings using many different Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) like LED lighting retrofits,
HVAC upgrades, and solar energy generating systems, with little or no up-front cost to the government.
The North Little Rock VA Medical Center is part of the South Central VA Health Care Network which serves over one million veterans each year in the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Alabama, Oklahoma, Florida, and parts of Texas. The parking canopy will provide shaded parking for nurses, doctors, patients, and workers while producing energy for the medical center.
“We have designed and built many different parking canopy projects in the last couple of years, particularly for the VA. Our team looks forward to another successful project,” said COL (R) Dave McNeil, CEO of HSGS.
