International solar + storage developer Lightrock Power has sold a 350-MW portfolio of solar projects to unnamed entities. The portfolio comprises four solar projects (three in Illinois and one in Utah) in various stages of development. These utility-scale projects are expected to reach commercial operation in 2021-22.
“We are delighted to have created these opportunities in an effort to accelerate the transition of energy generation to renewable sources,” said Benjamin Davies, Co-Founder of Lightrock Power. “Furthermore, we believe the purchaser is in an ideal position to take these opportunities to commercial operation”.
Christopher Sowerbutts, Co-Founder of Lightrock Power, stated, “This transaction demonstrates the quality of projects that we continue to source and develop. Over the last two years we have secured 12 strategic sites in the United States, totaling 750 MW. By adding to the U.S. team, we intend to continue on this trajectory”.
Lightrock Power, headquartered in the UK, currently have a further 30 projects in active development across Europe and North America, representing over 2,200 MW.
