SEIA and SEPA are bringing the global solar community together in the Beehive State for Solar Power International and Energy Storage International, as part of North America Smart Energy Week. The four-tiered tradeshow will take place September 23-26 at Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The convention’s venue is an example of Utah sustainability in work, achieving a Silver LEED Certification. The Salt Palace diverts more than 50% of its waste, has low-energy lighting and power consumption policies, and it couldn’t be a solar show without a solar-powered venue: Solar panels installed on the rooftop of the Salt Palace generate 17% of the convention center’s power.
While it’s not the powerhouse that is California, Utah has made great strides in solar, breaking into the Top 10 solar states, with a total installed capacity of about 1.6 GW. SPI, ESI and Smart Energy Week are expecting 19,000 attendees this year, with 100 hours of planned sessions and more than a day’s worth of networking opportunities.
SPI, the largest energy event in North America, will also have the largest presence on the show floor, with 700 exhibitors sharing the newest advancements in modules, inverters, mounting solutions and other solar technologies available to installers.
With its own section of the show floor at the Salt Palace Convention Center, Energy Storage International, the largest energy storage event in North America, features over 150 dedicated battery and storage exhibitors. Attendees will see residential lithium batteries, lead-acid models, hybrid inverters, green generator options and plenty more emerging storage technologies in this special part of the exhibit hall.
Doosan GridTech is sponsoring the energy storage track of education sessions. Sessions will explore energy storage codes and standards, the lithium battery supply chain, how to integrate storage with electric vehicles and strategies to finance commercial battery projects.
In addition to solar and storage offerings, this year’s convention programming will take a deeper look at electric vehicle technologies, microgrids and distributed energy resources with the presence of the Smart Energy Marketplace + Microgrid and Hydrogen + Fuel Cells International.
The SPW team is looking forward to seeing the latest tech on the show floor and learning new things in educational sessions at the biggest U.S. solar show of the year.
