New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville will become one of the first motorsports entertainment complexes in the nation to go solar, with the help of New Jersey commercial solar developer SolarKal. The 780-kW solar installation will provide enough energy to support the majority of the racetrack’s energy needs. The project is scheduled to break ground later this year.
“This is an exciting development for New Jersey Motorsports Park,” said NJMP COO Brad Scott. “This is our first step in a commitment to becoming a more environmentally friendly facility.”
“After years of considering solar energy, I am happy SolarKal had the opportunity to assist NJ Motorsport Park navigate the solar market and reduce their installation cost through our proprietary and rigorous process,” said SolarKal’s CEO Yaniv Kalish. “With the cost of solar keep coming down, the future will be powered by solar and we hope to see more New Jersey businesses follow their lead.”
SolarKal ran a thorough feasibility and assessments process of the property, along with electricity usage to recommend a customized strategy and financing options. Next, SolarKal launched its proprietary process of matching prequalified solar contractors. Based on that process, SolarKal selected Infiniti Energy Services (IES) as the solar installer for this project.
“As a New Jersey based firm we are excited for the opportunity to develop new solar resources in our home state and to bring renewable energy to the premier motorsports entertainment complex in the Northeast,” said IES President Michael Kushner. “We look forward to working with our partners at the New Jersey Motorsports Park to create a low impact, aesthetically pleasing system design which will reduce their carbon footprint and the energy costs associated with operating the facility.”
