Powerhome Solar partnered with the mini-series “Military Makeover” on Lifetime this summer to install the television program’s first-ever solar energy system to help a military family go green and gain independence from rising utility bills.
Power Home Solar, headquartered in North Carolina, worked with Military Makeover to help make-over the family home of an Iraq War veteran living in a Kansas City, Missouri, suburb. The Army Private was the driver of the lead vehicle of his unit’s convoy team, assigned to identify enemy bombs in Iraq. The veteran sustained countless head traumas over the course of his tours of duty through repeated, close proximity explosions and powerful shock wave impacts, and, like many veterans, also suffers from severe anxiety as a symptom of his PTSD.
Power Home Solar staff and representatives traveled to Missouri and volunteered during the week of July 16, 2018, to help Military Makeover give this deserving veteran and his family a home renovation. Power Home Solar installed American-made Mission Solar Energy solar panels and helped additional contractors with the renovation of the exterior and interior of the family’s home.
“Partnering with Military Makeover and installing the program’s first solar energy system for this family was an incredible experience,” said Jayson Waller, Co-Founder of Power Home Solar and Roofing. “The men and women of our armed services have sacrificed so much for the freedoms we enjoy, we’re honored to be able to repay them for their service through this special program.”
The first episode of this Military Makeover four-part mini-series will air on Lifetime Friday, Aug. 31, 2018 at 7:30 a.m. The subsequent three episodes will air at 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 14, Sept. 28, and Oct. 5.
Military Makeover offers hope and a helping hand to members of our military and their loved ones. The show enlists designers, contractors, landscapers and other home improvement professionals to transform the homes and lives of military families across the country.
