California made history on May 9th, 2018, when it became the first state to mandate solar PV systems on all new homes; this decision has huge implications for the solar industry. According to the California Solar and Storage Association, the number of new homes built with solar in California will quadruple as a result. By making solar a new normal for homebuyers, the policy will also bring solar energy further into the mainstream. This is a momentous opportunity for the solar industry, but it also represents a challenge for solar contractors whose sales and business processes are focused on solar for existing homes. In this webinar, Aurora Solar will highlight how solar contractors can adapt their design processes compared to designing solar for existing homes.
Attending this webinar, you will learn:
- The key policy requirements of California’s 2019 Building Energy Efficiency Standards relating to solar installations on new homes
- Business opportunities for small and medium-sized solar contractors
- How solar contractors can use Aurora solar design and sales software to use only a roof plan to accurately design solar installations for homes not yet built–with a demo of Aurora’s advanced 3D modeling and simulation tools
