There’s a new kind of energy at Ford Field and the Detroit Lions Training Facility this week, thanks to a green initiative partnership between the Detroit Lions and local solar energy provider Power Home Solar.
Earlier this month, Powerhome Solar installed solar panels on both Ford Field and the Lions’ training facility in Allen Park.
The solar installations are one way Power Home Solar is helping support the Lions go green initiative to maximize energy efficiency and minimize their carbon footprint with renewable energy solutions.
“We are proud to partner with the Lions on this,“ said Jayson Waller, co-founder of Power Home Solar and Roofing. “Solar power is an affordable, effective way for the organization to address sustainability and environmental challenges for future generations of Lions’ players and fans, and we’re really excited to help drive the movement!”
The Lions join a short, but growing list of NFL franchise leaders utilizing solar energy to save money on costly electricity bills, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and build healthier, more sustainable communities.
Power Home Solar is one of the fastest growing American companies to specialize in solar energy and roofing services, with explosive growth to five states in the last three years. As part of their partnership with the Lions, Power Home Solar will also work with the organization to help Lions fans go green by offering clean energy solutions through promotions, giveaways, and education on solar power and environmental sustainability this season.
