Axsus, a tracker manufacturer, continues to ramp tracker sales this year with the largest single-axis tracker job in Canada, a 20-MW project to be completed by the end of 2018. Following the launch of its innovative single-axis tracker late last year, Axsus has since been involved with several tracker projects, continually adding to its 2.5 GW of fixed-tilt installations. Axsus is a division of Magna, a $38 billion global automotive supplier.
Leveraging its expertise with fixed-tilt racking systems, Axsus has designed a single-axis tracker that is easily adaptable to high snow areas and various changes in terrain. The system removes the industry standard torque tube and uses roll formed sections to better handle bending loads, reduce metal, and lower hardware and installation costs. An actuator on every post eliminates torsional forces, allowing each row to extend up to 180 modules.
