By Michelle DiFrangia | October 31, 2014

TigoPVSafeTigo Energy’s smart module line of products now have additional functionality required by NEC 2014 690.12 Rapid Shutdown. This feature is available immediately for all Smart Module’s using Tigo’s industry leading technology or Tigo’s retrofit optimizers.

Intertek laboratories (ETL) verified through testing, Tigo’s smart module technology and confirmed it is meeting the Rapid Shutdown requirements of NEC 2014, 690.12 (1) through (4).  This testing, performed by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) verifies that the controlled conductors of a photovoltaic system equipped with Tigo’s technology are limited to no more than 30 V and 240 volt-amps within 10 sec of rapid shutdown initiation.
