Editorial Director Frank Andorka sat down on July 9, at Intersolar North America 2013 to discuss the mission of the recently formed HDPV Alliance, a consortium of companies trying to create standards that will allow all the important components of the solar array to work more closely together, now and into the future.
Present at the discussion were (in order of appearance): Mark Kanjorski, HDPV Alliance Chair and Director of Marketing at Ampt; David Devir, HDPV Alliance Interoperability & Compliance Committee Chair and Director of Product Management at KACO; Ben Macias, HDPV Alliance Member Representative and Vice President of Global Sales at Shoals Technology Group; and Steve Shirey, HDPV Alliance Marketing Committee Chair and Vice President Photovoltaic North America at LTi REEnergy.
In Part One of the interview, the group discusses why that alliance was formed, how it works and the inverter standard it just released yesterday. Oh, and David Devir unveils what he wants to do in his next life (at the very end — stay tuned).
Part Two of the interview will be posted tomorrow.
