Sunpreme Inc., a US-based solar company that produces its own photovoltaic cells and solar modules, has received UL 1703, IEC 61646, IEC 61730-01, IEC 61730-02 and ISO 9001 certifications and is now producing its G60 solar modules in high volume at its manufacturing facility in Jiaxing, China, and shipping product to customers globally.
The issuance of the TUV quality, reliability, and safety certificates, as put forth by IEC’s testing process, confirm that Sunpreme’s patented SmartSilicon solar module design is robust and reliable – and designed to fit the needs of solar developers and commercial customers. SmartSilicon is a hybrid technology developed by Sunpreme that uses both crystalline and thin-film materials to produce power which is competitive with conventional solar modules at a significantly lower cost.
“We are pleased to have passed the rigid guidelines imposed by IEC’s testing standards “ said Surinder S Bedi, Executive Vice President for Sunpreme, Inc. “Our philosophy has always been to ensure that product reliability and safety are designed into our products, and the UL and IEC Certificates further validate Sunpreme’s commitment to producing the highest quality solar modules. Sunpreme recently earned ISO 9001 certification for its R&D facilities in the US and high-volume production facilities in China, and this validates that the company manufacturing processes are in line with the requirements of International Organization for Standardization. We look forward to demonstrating our ability to compete and provide our customers with a reliable, innovative and aesthetically great looking product.”
“This gratifying milestone is a necessary condition in support of our mission to grow a global business around our disruptive SmartSilicon technology,” said Dr. Ashok K Sinha, CEO and Chairman of Sunpreme, Inc. “We aim to provide a multi-generational cost edge while adhering to world-class quality, environmental, and social standards.”
In addition to product reliability and safety, Sunpreme G60 solar modules have a streamlined design that lends itself well to solar applications such as carports, where both sides of the solar panel are visible, and commercial rooftops, where the solar modules add to the building’s aesthetics. This unique frameless design is implemented in a conventional panel size that is easy to install and does not require grounding. The end result is a reliable and visually-striking solar module that provides the benefits of thin-film and the performance of crystalline panels, without the use of toxic or exotic materials.
