Connector with optical fiber connector

An optical fiber has been added to the CombiTac connector system for data transfer. The 3 mm fiber has a 4-pole connector. Types include: •  Graded index fibre (GI): 50/125 and 62,5/125µm •  Single mode fibre (SM): 9/125µm Optical fibres are used wherever data transfer is required, such as in automated processes and machines,  medical technology (computer tomography), the railway industry (control and passenger information systems), and in many other fields. Multi-Contact... Read More

New Technology May Eliminate Large Panels

Researchers at Georgia Tech. University claim to have found a way to convert sunlight to electricity, which might no longer mean large panels of photovoltaic cells would be needed atop flat surfaces like roofs. Fiber-optic Cable Using zinc oxide nanostructures grown on optical fibers and coated with dye-sensitized solar cell materials, researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology have developed a new type of three-dimensional photovoltaic system. The approach could allow... Read More
