Chint Power Systems America, a solar inverter manufacturer, has formed an agreement with non-profit organization Wichita Falls Faith Mission in Wichita Falls, Texas. The mission’s shelter for women and children, Faith Refuge, opened in May 2012 and is partially powered by about 650 solar panels. Under the agreement, Chint will provide array services to maximize the site operation and energy harvest leveraging the manufacturer’s research and development and service center based in Dallas, Texas. Chint will use the 180-kW array for monitoring, evaluating and testing solar inverters, accessories, data monitoring and field services.
Chint Power Systems America opened its R&D center in Dallas, Texas in 2009 to develop string inverters for North America and has since shipped and installed thousands of inverters locally.
Ensuring that products are continually improved and that they perform over the long term in the field is a critical focus. This arrangement provides a platform for Chint to routinely observe, monitor and tune the inverters in the array. Also, new products can be installed and evaluated in a field environment. This field testing complements thorough lab based testing and agency safety certifications. The partnership between Chint and Wichita Falls Faith Mission, Inc. for Faith Refuge adds another field testing environment to the portfolio of field test sites already in place in the USA and Asia.
