SunPower Corp., a solar technology and energy services provider, supplied 494 kilowatts of its high efficiency E20/327 solar panels to Fuji Furukawa Engineering & Construction Co. (FFEC).
FFEC installed the solar panels at the Costco store located in Maebashi, Gunma, Japan, and the system is expected to commence operating next month. FFEC is acting as the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for this project.
SunPower Corp. has also installed its high efficiency solar panels at U.S. Costco sites located in Arizona, California and New Jersey.
Integrated into the E20/327 Solar Panels by SunPower Corp. are its patented Maxeon all-back contact solar cells. These cells are built on a solid copper foundation, making them resistant to cracking, corrosion and stresses from temperature variation. With an average efficiency of 20.1 percent, the E20/327 panels deliver more power in the same amount of space and maximize system output with fewer panels installed.
E20/327 solar panels by SunPower Corp. are backed by the company’s straightforward 25-year combined product and power warranty. It offers the industry’s lowest power degradation with more warranted energy, resulting in an unprecedented 87% power level at the end of 25 years.
Solar products by SunPower Corp. are branded in Japan under the Maxeon Solar name.
FFEC operates as a general facilities engineering and construction company, and is listed in Japan on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. It designs plant electrical equipment and general air-conditioning, and constructs plumbing, building works and communication equipment.
