MAGE Solar Executive Named To Federal Advisory Board

image001MAGE SOLAR, a turn-key provider of  PV-system solutions, announced  that Sylvia Minton, the company’s Senior Vice President for Corporate, Institutional & Government Affairs (and Solar Power World contributor) has been appointed to serve on the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee (RE&EEAC) at the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The Committee’s core task is to advise the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce on competitiveness issues confronting the export of U.S. renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. Other duties involve recommendations on the development and administration of U.S. government programs and policies aiding the development of a strong renewable energy industry that is able to compete internationally.

The 35 members composing the Committee represent U.S. companies, trade associations, and private sector organizations from the renewable energy sector with a proven focus on the competitiveness of U.S. renewable energy and energy efficiency goods and services. The RE&EE Advisory Committee is part of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Export Initiative (RE4I) in 2010. In its interagency role RE4I and the RE&EE both aim to support the President’s National Export Initiative.

With 25 years of high-level international management experience, Minton has led the site selection process for MAGE Solar in the United States in 2009 and has since been the company’s catalyst for all corporate, institutional, and government related affairs. She is also a member of the Board of Directors at MAGE Solar Academy.
