Ametek Solidstate Controls, a manufacturer of uninterruptible power supplies, says it has has signed a North American agreement for the exclusive distribution of inverters for photovoltaic systems manufactured by Friem.
Friem is a long-established manufacturer of high-power converters based in Milan, Italy. With this partnership, Friem says it aims to strengthen its worldwide presence, which already consists of a sales and technical assistance network in more than 20 countries and installed equipment in more than 70 countries worldwide.
The inverters will be produced by Friem at its manufacturing facilities in Italy and sold by Solidstate Controls under the Sahara Solar brand name in the United States, Canada and Mexico.Friem will provide the inverter products to North American customers while Solidstate Controls will provide service, assistance and guarantee.
Solidstate Controls currently offers solar inverters for nearly all large commercial or utility-scale designs from its full double-conversion EPP models designed for off-grid applications to the RECon line for grid-tie units. Ametek inverters come with design assistance, field service and 30-year design life.
