New England Clean Energy will now sell, install and maintain SunPower solar power systems throughout its Massachusetts service area. The company has also announced that homeowners in the state can lease a system with little or no upfront investment.
The company will sell SunPower’s high-density E20/327, E19/245 and E19/240 solar panels, which are up to 20 percent efficient.
By leasing systems, the company hopes to make solar panels a more affordable option for homeowners. The leases are financed through NRG SunLease.
The company says lease customers will pay a monthly fee to New England Clean Energy and a lowered monthly amount to the electric company. Together, these two payments will equal less than the customer’s electric bill prior to installing solar, the company says.
