Mage Solar says it has the first AC module on the market backed with a 30-year assurance for the module and the microinverter. The Powertec Plus AC module will debut at Intersolar in San Francisco. The module will have the same guarantees as the Powertec Plus DC module, including a positive 5 watt tolerance, 10-year product warranty, 12-year 90% power guarantee and 30-year 80% power guarantee.
The AC photovoltaic system saves time compared to other stand-alone microinverter systems, the company says. Because the DC-to-AC microinverter is integrated into the module frame, the need for one central inverter or multiple string inverters is eliminated. The pre-installed AC-cable plugs into the AC-cable connector of the adjacent module.
The preassembled microinverter technology, which features a 30-year warranty, is provided through a partnership with SolarBridgeTechnologies. The first AC modules will ship toward the middle of this quarter to customers throughout the Americas.
Other Mage products on display at Intersolar include high-wattage modules and its black versions for aesthetically appealing design applications, as well as mounting systems.
