White Construction Builds First Utility Scale Solar Project in the Midwest

White Construction has been selected by Invenergy to be the EPC contractor for Invenergy’s Grand Ridge Solar Farm located in LaSalle County, Illinois. This 20 megawatt (AC) project will consist of twenty, 1 MW solar inverters and over 155,000 photovoltaic modules supplied by General Electric.

White Construction has installed over 60 megawatts of utility scale solar throughout the United States and Canada.

As the EPC contractor, White Construction will engineer, procure, and construct the balance of system components as well as install the solar inverters and PV modules. The balance of system components include site preparation, security fencing, rack foundations, racking, DC wiring systems, AC collection system, and the electrical switchyard.

Invenergy has developed the Grand Solar Farm adjacent to its existing 210 MW Grand Ridge Wind Farm and will own and operate the project.
