19% Efficient Screen-Printed 6″ Solar Cell
Sunways AG has developed its high-efficiency silicon solar cell with screen-printing metallisation and an efficiency of more than 19% further from the 5″ format to the 6″ standard format.
In March this year a monocrystalline solar cell with screen-printing metallisation and more than 19% efficiency had already been successfully realised in the 5″ format in cooperation with the Institut für Solarenergieforschung Hameln (ISFH). Sunways now also achieved this efficiency with a prototype in the customary 6″ standard format. Through further development of solar cells with the well-established screen printing technology Sunways AG is able to transfer efficiency increases to standard products particularly quickly. With an efficiency for silicon solar cells of currently 19.1% Sunways is among the leading companies internationally.
The current enhancement of the monocrystalline solar cell focused on improving the efficiency of the rear of the cells, resulting in yield improvements in the long-wave range of the solar spectrum. This new innovation ensures that the solar spectrum (solar radiation) can be used even more effectively for power generation. The cell output can be increased by up to 5%.
Sunways Solar Modules with 60 cells and up to 250 Wp capacity are already available today. This is the result of sustained development work that starts with the solar cell.
