PV Power Plant Mounted on Roof in Germany

rooftop PV PanelDay4 Energy Inc.has completed the delivery of a turn-key 2.4 megawatt (MW) roof-mounted photovoltaic (PV) power plant for Gunther Heiss Solar Gmbh & Co. KG in Germany. The project was financed by a local Volksbank, backed by Deutsche Zentral-Genossenschaftsbank, Frankfurt am Main.

Day4 Energy was responsible for the design, engineering and construction of the PV power plant together with one of our leading German based channel partners. The plant includes 12,600 48MC Day4 modules. The energy produced at this solar plant will be sold to the local grid provider under the German feed-in-tariff (FIT) Law (EEG).

Gunther Heiss, president of Gunther Heiss Solar Gmbh & Co. KG. Heiss Solar located in Emmingen, is a German company focused on the business of tree nurseries. Heiss has developed a concept to cultivate ginseng plants that prefer shading to sunlight for optimal growth and therefore require extensive roofs. The combined investment into the roof infrastructure and its power generation capability is a unique solution to the project.
